  • What the Washington Post has to say about Moving to Buenos Aires
I think I am going to puke if I read another article on how ex-pats come here because it is cheap. These articles chronicle how mostly americans come here and act like celebrities with new found wealth.

Feliz Cumpli Sandra

Door Feliz Cumpli   Princess_sandra

My Friends Sandra likes to celebrate her birthday.  It almost became a joke how many times we celebrated. The last party was on Saturday Feb 9 almost a month after her birthday.  We had a great party in her house.

Sandra has this thing for her door.  Everytime she has a party, she decorates her door.  The theme for this party was balloons.

Niece1

Her niece was in charge of the balloons.  She spent the afternoon blowing them.  The problem was her younger sister decided it was more fun to step on them and blow them up.

Comida

Argentine parties are always full of food.  Food is usually the main event.  I always tease Sandra at the amount of food she has at her parties.  The truth is all parties have lots of food here.  No one ever worries if there will be enough to eat

I made spinach dip.  That American favorite you find at every party. The Argentines were polite about it, although they did not quite understand it.  It is what I love about them and it is what drives me  crazy.Spinach_dip_2   Anything new is held up to close scrutiny, and more often than not rejected.  But rejected politely.  Although every once in awhile I get surprised when someone likes something that is new and different.

Roxbro

Sandra's brother is shy.  He either hides his face or puts his hand up. I can never get a foto of him.  Here he is hiding behind Roxana.

What would a birthday party be without cake?
